Tea Party Express Endorses Martha McSally or U.S. Senate in Arizona

Sacramento, CA – Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest grassroots Tea Party political action committee, is pleased to announce its endorsement of Rep. Martha McSally to replace retiring Senator Jeff Flake in Arizona.

Tea Party Express Co-Founder and Chief Strategist Sal Russo said, “Martha McSally is a decorated veteran and proven leader who has devoted her life to public service. Her impressive military service and record of fighting for tax reform, border security, and limited government position her to be an effective Senator who will serve Arizona well. When I first met McSally during her first run for the House, it was clear to me that she would aggressively take on her House responsibilities just like she did with her remarkable career as a jet fighter pilot in the Air Force. We heartily endorsed her then and strongly endorse her advance to the United States Senate, where we are in critical need of more legislators who understand our national defense needs.

“A graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, Martha McSally went on to have a twenty-six-year career in the Air Force that included six deployments to the Middle East and Afghanistan, for which she earned a Bronze Star and six air medals. She has the distinction of being the first American woman to fly a fighter jet in combat as well as the first woman to command a fighter squadron. After retiring from the Air Force, Martha’s passion for public service led her to Congress, where she has continued fighting to keep Americans safe and secure through her service on the Armed Services and Homeland Security Committees. She has also stood with President Trump and our Tea Party Congress to lower taxes, slash burdensome regulations that hinder economic growth, and drain the swamp in Washington.

“With control of the U.S. Senate hanging in the balance, this race could not be more critical. Under conservative leadership, the Senate has passed historic tax reform, confirmed two conservative justices to the Supreme Court, and helped get our stagnant economy moving again after eight disastrous years of Barack Obama’s abysmally slow growing economy. America cannot afford to lose all the gains we have made over the past two years, which is exactly what will happen if liberals like Krysten Sinema tip control of the Senate to Chuck Schumer and the Democrats. Sinema likes to portray herself as a moderate, yet her history of left-wing extremism is well-documented, from her support for raising taxes, to her ties to far-left and anti-war groups, and her open criticism of capitalism. She is far too extreme to represent Arizona in the Senate. Arizonans deserve a common-sense leader like Martha McSally,” Russo concluded.
