Tea Party Express Endorses Marsha Blackburn for U.S. Senate in Tennessee

Sacramento, CA – Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest grassroots Tea Party political action committee, is pleased to announce its endorsement of Rep. Marsha Blackburn for U.S. Senate in Tennessee.

Tea Party Express Co-Founder and Chief Strategist Sal Russo said, “Rep. Marsha Blackburn has distinguished herself as one of the most effective and conservative members of Congress. We have previously supported her for the House of Representatives because of her unwavering commitment to Tea Party principles like limited government, fiscal responsibility, and economic freedom, and we proudly support her again today because we are certain she will continue fighting for those principles in the Senate.

“Marsha Blackburn’s record of accomplishment is second to none. While serving in the Tennessee State Senate, she led a statewide grassroots campaign that defeated a proposed state income tax and pushed for an end to burdensome regulations that were killing jobs and hindering economic growth. In 2003, Marsha took her fight for limited government and economic prosperity to Congress, where she has voted repeatedly to lower the taxes of hard working Americans, repeal failed government programs like Obamacare, and cut wasteful spending. In the Senate, Marsha will stand with President Trump and work with him to further implement his agenda to keep the American economy humming.

“If the Democrats succeed in stealing control of the Senate away from conservatives, all the progress the President and our conservative Congress have made over the past two years will come to a grinding halt. Rather than additional tax cuts, regulatory reform, and conservative federal judges, Chuck Schumer and other Senate liberals will produce nothing more than obstructionism and partisan rhetoric. We cannot allow them to stand in the way of our growing economy and successful efforts to drain the Washington swamp. Blackburn’s opponent, former Governor Phil Bredesen, has been trying to deceive voters by claiming to be a moderate. However, we have seen this story too many times before. Once they get to Washington, these Democrats just fall in line behind liberal Democrat leaders like Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi. Tennesseans can make their voices for liberty heard loud and clear next week by rejecting the double-talking Bredesen in favor of sending conservative Marsha Blackburn to the U.S. Senate,” Russo concluded.
