Tea Party Express Proudly Endorses Tom Smith for the U.S. Senate

Sacramento, CA – Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest Tea Party political action committee, endorsed Tom Smith during their “Restoring the American Dream” national bus tour kick-off rally outside of Pittsburgh today. This marked the organization’s sixth U.S. Senate endorsement this cycle.

Tea Party Express Chairman Amy Kremer said, “One of our top priorities in 2010 is taking the gavel out of the hand of Senator Harry Reid and a big step to doing that is defeating Senator Bob Casey. The Bob Casey that was elected promised fiscal responsibility, but unfortunately the Bob Casey that got to Washington has been voting for bigger spending like for the failed stimulus and horrifically unconstitutional Obamacare.

“Tom Smith, however, understands business and the need to rein in the federal spending and job killing regulations. As someone who has lived the American Dream, Tom has become a successful businessman that created thousands of jobs in the coal industry. We don’t need just another politician to go along to get along, but we need an innovative conservative willing to make the tough decisions – that’s Tom.

“The current path being laid by Obama, Reid, and Casey is destroying the American Dream for our children by pilling on trillions of dollars in debt and regulations. The Tea Party Express is committed to reversing those corrosive policies, and we strongly believe that right person to replace Senator Bob Casey in Pennsylvania is Tom Smith,” Kremer concluded.

Tea Party Express has already endorsed five United States Senate candidates for the 2012 election cycle: Attorney General Jon Bruning in Nebraska, State Treasurer Richard Mourdock in Indiana, former Solicitor General Ted Cruz in Texas, State Treasurer Josh Mandel in Ohio, and former State Treasurer Sarah Steelman in Missouri.
