ELECTION ALERT: Tea Party Express Endorses Four Conservatives for Congress in California

For Immediate Release: September 3, 2020

SACRAMENTO, CA: Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest Tea Party political action committee, is pleased to announce its endorsement of four outstanding conservative candidates for Congress in California’s Central Valley: Rep. Tom McClintock in the 4th District, Ted Howze in the 10th District, David Valadao in the 21st District, and Rep. Devin Nunes in the 22nd District.

Tea Party Express Co-Founder and Chief Strategist Sal Russo said, “These four conservative leaders have proven records of finding commonsense solutions to the problems facing the Valley. We need all of them in Congress fighting the left’s radical socialist agenda and working to get the economy moving again. One of the unique characteristics of Members of Congress from this area is that they have been exemplary legislators. They have been successful in representing the diverse interests of the Valley, and they demonstrate a unique ability to get things done despite the poisoned atmosphere that has afflicted Washington, D.C.

4th District: Tom McClintock has spent his entire career fighting to safeguard our U.S. Constitution. No one in Congress is as knowledgeable about our Founder Fathers and the remarkable job they did in creating our great nation. In the California Legislature and in Congress, he has consistently championed limited government, lower taxes, and balanced budgets, even when he was the lone voice of reason. As a member of the House Budget Committee, he is a strong voice for reforming the federal budget process, curbing unnecessary spending, and paying down the national debt. We need more solid voices for Tea Party principles in Congress like Tom McClintock.

10th District: “Valley native Ted Howze is a small business owner and former member of the Turlock Planning Commission and City Council, where he supported policies that created jobs and grew the city’s economy. During his tenure, Turlock was recognized nationally for its fiscal stability. We need proven fiscal conservatives like Ted in Congress working to get the economy back on track and rein in the out-of-control federal spending. He will fight for policies that create good paying Valley jobs, protect our water supply, and reform our broken healthcare system.

21st District. “Born in Hanford to Portuguese immigrants, David Valadao grew up working in the family dairy farm and later became a partner in the business. He has spent his career advocating for farmers and ranchers in leadership roles with several industry associations, in the State Senate, and in Congress, where he fought to lower taxes and remove regulatory burdens to job creation. David knows what it takes to run a business and balance a budget, and he will work to ensure everyone in the Valley has the opportunity to achieve their American Dream.

22nd District. Devin Nunes is a Central Valley native who grew up working on the family farm. His extensive agricultural experience led President George W. Bush to appoint him California State Director for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Rural Development. Since his election to Congress in 2003, Devin has fought to reform the federal tax code, implement free market healthcare solutions, and secure a stable water supply for the Valley’s residents and farmers. He has been an advocate for limited government and economic opportunity, and we need his continued leadership in Congress. He has been a consistent voice exposing the abuses within our intelligence community, and his leadership in reform will be critical to keep these institutions beyond reproach in the future.

“With the economy struggling from the coronavirus, many people in the Valley are out of work and struggling to pay bills. Their liberal opponents are more interested in blaming President Trump for COVID-19 and defending the violent rioters who are burning our cities rather than providing the leadership needed to get the economy safely moving again and put Americans back to work. We need real leadership in Congress from proven conservatives who will fight for policies that create more jobs and help entrepreneurs start businesses. Tom McClintock, Ted Howze, David Valadao, and Devin Nunes will lead the way,” Russo concluded.
